Nano Brows

Nano Brows? What’s that?

There are always new terms coming out for different techniques of tattooing brows. Nano Brows, also called “single needle brows” or “hair stroke brows”, are a method of tattooing using a single needle to create realistic hair strokes. As soon as you hear “tattoo” you may be thinking of the old school, solid, angry tattooed eyebrows. This technique has come a long way! This procedure can add realistic density, create symmetry, correct shape, and give you the freedom to feel confident without makeup.

What about the shape?

Before we start the procedure, I draw your Brows on for you using the symmetries of your face. I use 3 different measuring tools to ensure your Brows are symmetrical and even. If you want to make any changes just let me know! We don't start until you love the design of your brows. PS. I have colors from blonde to darkest brown, don't let your brow color hold you back! It's not just for brunettes!

How long does it last?

Nano Brows are done with pigment, not ink. Pigment is specially made for the face and made to lighten with time. THIS IS A GOOD THING! As we age, our face, as well as the position of our skin, can shift. We want your brow design to continue to grow with you, not against you. Nano Brows can last up to 3 years depending on your skin type and lifestyle. A touch up appointment (included in the price) is 8-10 weeks after the initial procedure.

Does it hurt?

I use a topical numbing cream before, during, and after the procedure to ensure comfort. I tend to ask my clients on a scale of 1-10, with 10 being the most painful, what they would rate the discomfort. Most say anywhere from 1- 4.

Am I a good candidate?

There's a brow technique for every skin type. Nano Brows work best on normal to dry skin. If you have to blot your face throughout the day, your skin is too oily for this procedure. Oily skin tends to have larger pores for pigment to explore, causing a slight “blur” of the hair strokes. Oily skin also breaks down the pigment faster than dry skin. If you have an oily skin type, I recommend Fashion Powder Brows.

Nano Brows are not recommended if you are on thyroid medications, chemo medications, accutane, or if you have had Botox in the past 60 days. You are not a candidate if you are pregnant or nursing.

Can I still work out after the procedure?

It is recommended not to work out for the first two weeks to avoid high body temperature and sweat. Both factors can affect pigment retention. If you're willing to give up those two weeks, nano brows are for you! You don't want to invest time and money into your brows and then not take care of them! After care determines how your brows will ultimately heal.

How much is it? What's included?

Nano Brows are $400. This includes a touch up appointment 8-10 weeks after the initial procedure. At both appointments you will receive an email of Before and After Care. You will also receive an antibiotic cream, grape seed oil to apply during the healing process and a brow razor for natural hair maintenance.

Do not wax or thread your brows for 2 weeks after the procedure.

WHAT SHOULD I DO BEFORE THE APPOINTMENT?

24-48 hours before your appointment you want to AVOID:

-Fish Oils

-Aspirin (blood thinners)

-Sun exposure

-Alcohol

-Caffenine

These factors cause bleeding which effects how well your skin will retain pigment.

~If you take or have taken Accutane, you must be completely off the medication for 6 months before the procedure.

~Please do NOT shave your eyebrows before the procedure, we want that hair there!

~No need to wax or pluck your brows before the procedure, I can clean them up at our appointment.

~If you want me to see how you specifically do your brows, come in with your makeup the way you normally wear it.

~ If you are pregnant, please wait to have the procedure done until after your pregnancy and nursing.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT AFTER OUR APPOINTMENT?

Right after the appointment, your tattoo will look darker and bolder than when it is healed. As it heals it softens and lightens in color. It may also appear "warmer" in color right away. Most people are pink around the brow area and may have a white "halo" around the brow. This is due to the numbing creme and will go away within the next hour. Swelling usually doesn't occur. The healing process on the surface takes about 10 days. During that time, your brows may be patchy as they exfoliate themselves. This is normal. It also may look like some pigment has disappeared. This is due to skin building up and hiding the pigment underneath. Your skin will normalize over the next 4-6 weeks while it heals internally and the pigment will reappear (This is why the touch up appointment isn't until 8-12 weeks).

*If you want your brows fuller or darker, the touch up appointment will take care of that! We can always add color to make them bolder!
