What is Microblading?

Permanent Makeup has come a long way since the blue eyeliner in the 80s and the crazy lip liner of the 90s. It is now referred to as Micropigmentation and is Semi-permanent. Who wants the same eyebrows when they're 20 as when they're 60? Our faces change so much as we age that we really shouldn't be doing anything permanent.

WHAT IS MICROBLADING?

Microblading is the process of manually implanting pigment in to the skin in a hair stroke pattern using a sterile needle. Microblade brows are meant be a natural enhancement to create the look of full, structured brows. Your Micro blading appointment comes with two sessions, the initial appointment and a touch up 8-12 weeks later. The first appointment builds shape and symmetry while the touch up builds density. The process is not considered "complete" until the touch up appointment is completed.

HOW LONG DOES IT LAST?

Micro blading lasts anywhere from 12- 18 months depending on factors such as skin type, home care, lifestyle, hormones, etc. Home care is VERY important while your brows are healing. Instructions are given at your initial appointment. Micro blade brows require maintenance to keep them looking their best. Annual touch-ups are recommended and are the most cost effective way to keep your brows beautiful.

DOES IT HURT?

I use two topical numbing cremes during the procedure to keep you as comfortable as possible. Some people don't feel anything while others describe it as a "plucking" feeling. I also apply a numbing creme for you to wear for the day to take care of any tenderness. Overall, it's pretty comfortable.

WHAT SHOULD I DO BEFORE THE APPOINTMENT?

24-48 hours before your appointment you want to avoid:

-Fish Oils

-Aspirin (blood thinners)

-Sun exposure

-Alcohol

-Caffenine

These factors cause bleeding which effects how well your skin will retain pigment.

~If you take or have taken Accutane, you must be completely off the medication for 6 months before the procedure.

~Please do NOT shave your eyebrows before the procedure, we want that hair there!

~No need to wax or pluck your brows before the procedure, I can clean them up at our appointment.

~If you want me to see how you specifically do your brows, come in with your makeup the way you normally wear it.

~ If you are pregnant, please wait to have the procedure done until after your pregnancy and nursing.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE?

The appointment takes 2 hours. During this time we will numb your brows, design your brows, pick the color, and complete the micro blading. Any questions you have will be answered and your follow up will be scheduled. At-home care will be given to you as well as ointment. The touch up appointment is usually 1 to 1.5 hours.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT AFTER OUR APPOINTMENT?

Right after the appointment, your tattoo will look darker and bolder than when it is healed. As it heals it softens and lightens in color. It may also appear "warmer" in color right away. Most people are pink around the brow area and may have a white "halo" around the brow. This is due to the numbing creme and will go away within the next hour. Swelling usually doesn't occur. The healing process on the surface takes about 10 days. During that time, your brows may be patchy as they exfoliate themselves. This is normal. It also may look like some pigment has disappeared. This is due to skin building up and hiding the pigment underneath. Your skin will normalize over the next 4-6 weeks while it heals internally and the pigment will reappear (This is why the touch up appointment isn't until 8-12 weeks).

*If you want your brows fuller or darker, the touch up appointment will take care of that! We can always add color to make them bolder!
